Bundala National Park Safari is a world-famous bird watching safari experience that lets you witness over 197 bird species including migratory water birds. This designated area first became a wildlife sanctuary in 1969, then became a national park on 4th January 1993. When compared to most other national parks on the island, the Bundala Park is a nature-rich and charming area, and these facts made it known as a Ramsar site in Sri Lanka. Also, the UNESCO named it a biosphere reserve in 2005, making it the 4th biosphere on the island. The greenery and the breath-taking views in the region will give you a unique safari experience for sure.

Bundala National Park Safari Information: When compared to most other national parks in Sri Lanka, the Bundala Park holds a mild climate, and the average temperature may take a maximum value of 27 degrees Celsius, making it a bit cooler than other parks on the island. The nature-rich environment contains six wetland types and seven terrestrial habitat types. All in all, this nature-rich environment makes this park a perfect living space for animals, especially bird species. Hence, a Bundala National Park Safari is ideal for local and foreign travelers who prefer birdwatching. The Greater Flamingo is the highlighted migratory bird that you can see in abundance here. Altogether, 197 bird species, 32 mammals, 48 reptiles, 52 butterflies, and 32 fish species live in this national park.
